MILLION DOLLAR LISTING LA

We were very excited to receive a call from our client Josh Altman, asking us to be a part of an event for his hit show Million Dollar Listing LA (on Bravo). After recently coordinating/designing his precious daughters Alexis’s first birthday party, we couldn’t be more thrilled to be on board for another project with the Altman’s. A chic and elegant cocktail party/open house showcasing the already stunning 45 million dollar home was our task at hand. The house itself was pretty epic, we added some special touches to elevate the guest experience and get people interested in buying…. while enjoying some delicious food and drink! Our good friend Matt Gudis of Who’s That DJ spun tunes to keep the energy up, while hand crafted Lychee cocktails (Josh’s Fav) were flowing all night long. It was pretty fun/funny/awkward to see ourselves on TV! Watch below to see the Lady Lib Gals in action.

That is how these pretty little things came into play! Mini globe tables numbers, all hand painted... and sealed with the perfect vinyl number, designed by the amazingly talented ladies at Prim & Pixie. We were pretty happy with how they turned out! VOILA!!

The Ranch Laguna Beach

We are really starting to enjoy these creative conferences! Stepping away from the typical oval table + chair set-up and building warm & cozy lounges for the executives to brainstorm. The Ranch at Laguna Beach is truly magical. A tucked away hidden gem newly renovated with so many beautiful spaces to explore! Trying to tap into the Laguna beachy vibes... we went for wood tones, leather textures and indigo pops. Mixing in the perfect amount of coastal greenery added that final touch! Found Vintage Rentals truly spoiled us with their amazing pieces that fit so well in the space. Also check out the most serene lunch space where guests were able to grab fresh air and enjoy the surroundings!

GETTING CORPORATE IN LONDON

When one of our MOST favorite corporate client calls us and asks us to coordinate & design an event for them in London… we don’t hesitate to oblige! We love the challenge of exploring new territory and getting to work with new vendors. Learning all new industry jargon made it even more interesting! Seriously though… sometimes we had no idea what people were talking about, and vice versa! J

After hours, upon hours, upon hours, upon hours of research… we truly found our dream team! We had the pleasure of working with such talented and lovely vendors… who put up with our lengthy emails and endless questions, because as most of you know we are DETAILED beyond belief.

To add to our excitement… we weren’t just asked to coordinate one event, but MANY! Including: conference set-up, multiple breakfasts, lunches and dinners! We really had to get our creative juices going to produce different vibes in each area, while still making everything feel cohesive. The Four Seasons Hampshire wasn’t the worst palate to begin with J

One of our most treasured designs, which we called “The Café”… was a custom pop-up green house/restaurant that we built from the ground up… literally! Berry Marquees really nailed our vision for this structure. Mixing in various woods and metal textures with tons of lush greenery made for a super chic and industrial feel! Blending high and low top seating for a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Purposefully, we decided on clear glass walls for our tent, to showcase the gorgeous views of London countryside! Needless to say we wanted to live in here… See the before picture to get an idea of what it looked like before we put our Lady Liberty touch on it :)

AFTER

BEFORE

Even though the weather in London is really touch and go... we still wanted to give the guests an outdoor experience! We set up an organic, farm-to-table style lunch in the hotel’s already magical garden! We went for a very clean and minimalist vibe here, with all natural herbs to center the tables, to enhance the existing luscious surroundings.

For the main event, we wanted to create a sexy yet masculine mood… and I think we did just that! Combing different wood tones with modern black accents, adding in the jewel toned floral to spice it up. One of our obsessions at all of our events is a well thought out, intricate bar display! This one was no different… we couldn’t wait to see this installation come to life! A custom trained vine wall… the perfect backdrop for our classic bar! Lavender Green really came through and made our dreams come true! See for yourself!

Charlene & Bryan's Wildly Modern Romance

Knowing that Charlene loved the natural organic feel of the outdoors and Bryan's love for architecture, we KNEW they would fall in love with Hummingbird Nest Ranch! When describing their dream day, both the bride and groom gravitated towards natural, clean, romantic... vintage with a modern flare. So... doing what we do best, we snapped our fingers and began designing! With this gorgeous blank slate, the possibilities were endless.

Check out some of the gorgeous details we created for this special duo... including their wedding invitation that Prim & Pixie NAILED!

Charlene and Bryan wanted a very personal ceremony that reflected them as a couple and their journey leading to this special day. Since they enjoy their wine time together, we had a custom wooden box made with their initials and wedding date engraved into it. prior to the ceremony they each wrote a letter to one another for them to read on their 10th anniversary. During the ceremony, they laid the envelopes into the wine box and together they held the key and locked it! We always love trying to incorporate details that give back to the couple at a later date.

As guests entered the barn, a glowing display of flickering candles were set under a hanging laser cut sign that said "You Light Up Our Lives". Each candle was personalized to every guest and included their table number, directing each person to his or her seat. Once you made your way out of the barn and towards the reception area... your eyes would be overwhelmed with so many beatufiul details to look at! With a mixture of wooden cabanas, clean white linens, tons of foliage, and personalized touches... the guests couldn't wait to explore! See for yourself...

Bryan And Char both talked about how they didn’t care for wedding cake…like at all. They wanted to do something that was the complete opposite of cake. Being that they love gummy candy with gummy bears being a top fav, we found BOB (Big Ol Bear) a 25lb, 1 ½ foot tall gummy bear. Surrounded by some of their favorite gummy candies and gorgeous blooms, their gummy bear cake looked oh so sweet accented with a white acrylic Mr. & Mrs. Riley topper.

Graduation on the Bluff

After years of hard work, sweat and tears Heather finally got her masters from UCLA’sArchitecture and Interior design program… and was ready to celebrate! Wanting a gorgeous outdoor brunch with ocean views she had selected the stunning Montage at Laguna Beach to act as the lovely setting for this celebration.

It was the perfect afternoon for her friends and family to gather on the Studio Lawn, while servers tray passed Bloody Mary's upon their arrival. Prior to be seated for brunch, guests were excited about the mimosa buffet that provided colorful berry and melon options to add to their champagne. Handmade tags were hung from the carafes labeling each of the fresh squeezed juices.

The luncheon tables were draped with the gorgeous Brooklyn Nude linens, from La Tavola, which created an elegant yet fun sparkle to the setting. Lush arrangements filled with Dahlias, ranunculus, garden roses, and maiden-hair fern accents were set in gold mercury urns and helped complete the stunning setting.  At each place-setting, coral and peach dipped Rice Krispy treats in the Letter H, provided a tasty favor for guests to enjoy later. A diploma rolled paper was placed on top of each of the gold beaded chargers and was actually prints of different interior designs that Heather had sketched out. We provided color pencils and guests colored in the sketches and signed them to create a coloring book for Heather to look back on! We hand crafted custom sparkly petite graduation hats in gold, black and coral, that everyone got a kick out of wearing! They were the absolute perfect accessory and even looked fantastic on the men!

The afternoon ended with a loving toast given by Heather while standing next to her charming gradation cake that we designed to match her party dress! A three tier cake in shimmer fondant with stripes and polka dots and topped with the perfect mini grad hat was the ultimate finale to a festive and fun afternoon.

DRANKS!

When a crazy chic and talented interior designer contacted us to help bring her soirée to life we were nothing less than excited! With a backyard already dripping in olive leaves and lush foliage… we had the perfect setting to accent! She wanted an eclectic mix of vintage, boho, and industrial elements that provided a curated and styled vibe (which of course felt effortless and comfortable! Duh!) Pulling from the goodies from our friends at Found Rentals made this an easy design to nail!

With a very charming and sweet ol’ southern background, this bday gal knows the importance of a goooood cocktail. So “DRANKS” was a must have for this killer bar display. Contemporary Catering shook up some tasty sips and delish passed bites throughout the evening. An impressive stationary charcuterie spread covered every inch of a one-of-a-kind vintage dresser, providing the ultimate grazing station.

Heirloom Design House killed it with the wild and foraged vibe we wanted to achieve. The hanging blooms and herbs over the self-serve "come wine with me" bar added a whimsical touch and the tucks of vibrant garden roses added the perfect pops of color. The fragrance from the fresh mint, rosemary, and lavender that she used deliciously lingered around the yard.

A display of DRUNK'N DONUTS (individually boxed, crazy delish Donut Snob donuts, with a cute thank you sticker) greeted guests as they departed. A fun way to end a drank-full night!

We wanted to provide a comfortable setting that didn't feel "over done". Beginning with live Mumford and Sons inspired acoustic music to dance battles under the twinkle lights with DJ spun tunes... It certainly was a fantastic celebration all around.

Handmade Holiday

As the Holiday season was approaching, we wanted to think of a fun/creative/practical gift to send to our nearest and dearest clients, vendors and friends! What is something everyone can use... hhmm.... a DOORMAT! But not just any doormat... one with a personalized message that is completely unique to each household. Half the fun was figuring out what each one should say!

Then we were off to the hardware store to get our supplies. Let me tell you... these babies were a labor of love! Each one super time consuming, requiring very precise measuring, pining, and painting. The satisying feeling after the completeion of each one made it totally worth it!

Check out some of the before and after shots.

MATERIALS/SUPPLIES

Cricut Explore (you can absolutely use a stencil or hand cut designs that you desire)

Doormat (shape/size based on preference)

Poster Board

Sewing/Long Pins

Acrylic Paint (we recommend this over spray paint... we tried both)

Foam Paint Brushes (very important to have various sizes for difficult/fancy fonts)

Hair Paint Brushes (helps get the paint in between the bristles of the mat)

Pair of scissors

Yard Stick/Ruler

Paint Palate

Seelant Spray

STEPS

1. Make sure you have all of your supplies

2. Decide what you want your mat to say/design

3. Use a Cricut to cut out your artwork OR us a stencil OR cut out yourself

4. Decide placement of artwork on your mat

5. Use your yard stick/ruler to make sure it is straight/centered/symmetrical

6. Place sewing pins to hold your artwork in place. Pin in as many as you can, once you start painting the paper moves!

7. Begin painting with foam brush to initially get the paint on surface

8. Go over edges and fill in with hair paint brush

9. Pull off stencil and lay somewhere safe to dry

10. Once fully dry, spray a decent coat of clear gloss over the entire mat (not just artwork) to the seal the paint.

The reactions we got from the recipients of these mats were amazing! People were touched that we took the time to create such a tailor-made thoughtful gift. Check out the finished products below. I only had to stand on a car to get the photos :)

Magical Mermaid Grotto - 5th Birthday!

Definitely the 5th Birthday bash all little girls dream of! Pink, purple and mermaids... what's not to like? Hand crafted blowfish and jellyfish of various colors added to the playful marine vibe. This was only the beginning of the under-the-sea surprises that would unfold...

These young ladies were dolled up to the nines... with custom sparkling mermaid tails, magical starfish wands and stylish fishtail braids. Once officially princesses of the sea, the girls got to have lunch in our lavish mermaid grotto... designed by yours truly. Completely immersed "under water" surrounded by twinkling lights, bubbles and of course thing-a-ma-bobs! The girls filled their bellies with ocean inspired tasty treats including; octopus hot dogs, crab enthused croissant sandwiches, hummus sand pales with seashell carrots, fish bait gold fish, sharks teeth cheese triangles, and much much more!

We can't forget about the amazingly gorgeous mermaid birthday cake from Charm City. Even a real life mermaid made an appearance and led the girls in a magical treasure hunt where they were to find all of her lost jewelry and gold coins. Finally, to end this fairy-tale day, all the girls got to go home with a hand-sewn mermaid of their own, made by the birthday girl's very talented mommy. Such a special fun-filled day!

Rustic Bohemian Elegance

This wedding truly exuded the personalities of our bride and groom. We were so happy to bring both Candace & Mike’s fun little quirks to life on their special day.

A happy medium of playful/funky and romantic elegance made this celebration of love one of a kind. A moving ceremony officiated by a close friend made it that much more special... incorporating a sweet release of lace tied balloons to signify their everlasting love and adventures to come. Creating a custom dream catcher installation over the head table is still one of our favorite design details to date! Sparkling chandeliers hung in the lush trees over the dance floor and beautiful lounge vignettes surrounding made for a picturesque setting for all of the guests to dance the night away. Did we mention that the bride and groom hula hooped to their first dance… and not just any hula hoops… neon LED hula hoops! Yep… it was good. Check it out.

Follow the Call of the Disco Ball

When Serra contacted us to help design her 30th birthday, I felt like a kid in a candy shop while she was describing wha she loves... metallic golds and silvers, sparkles, desserts galore, and black tie attire! She was totally speaking my language... for those of you who know me (and those getting to know me). Metallics and sparkles are like a match made in heaven. I was ready to play!

The dessert display was a sassy and sparkly array of some of Serra's favorite sweets. Sweet and Saucy Shop made coral fun-fetti cake pops with gold dust, chocolate salted caramels, and melt in your mouth brownie bites! The three tier modern geo metallic birthday cake was the perfect combination of flirty meets thirty. The gold fringe backdrop that we created brought the whole dessert display to another level. And we have to agree... A party without a cake is just a meeting!

With an installation of various metallic, peach and black poms hanging from the ceiling, gold fringe surrounding the entire area, and strands of silver and gold confetti covering the floor... it felt like the Gatsby Mansion.. post raging soiree. Which by the way, was exactly what I was going for. We had an awesome gold mirrored decal created that boasted the motto for the evening: "Follow the Call of the Disco Ball". And friends... they absolutely did! Serra called the next day to say her party was "EPIC". When a client is so pleased and impressed with what we created for them... there is no bigger reward.
